I arrived from Orlando with about $480.00 or so in my cheching account. My half of the rent is $525.00. So I borrowed $50.00 from my old lady to be sure I had a little extra once the rent hit. I also had $13.00 in my wallet, of which $10.00 I put into my checking account (KAH-CHING!) Leaving me with $3.00 in cash to my name as well as $3.18 in my checking account.
I also arrived to an empty cupboard and fridge. I had one strawberryy oatmeal packet, one red onion, one potato, 6 chicken breasts, 1.5 lbs. of ground turkey, 2 key limes, 1 can of mixed vegetables, peanut butter, butter, waffles, 6 cans of black beans and a ton of condiments. No milk or juice or anything remotely tasty and sweet. I do have flavored hot cocoa mix.
The first night after I arrived I made what is pretty much dog food in a rich household. I took a half pound of ground turkey and mixed it with the can of mixed veggies. I also added some herbs and sazon (GOYA BABY!) for seasoning. That’s it I threw it on some rice and that was it. Dinner and lunch the next day.
The next day I had leftover dog food and Conor brought me some leftovers from his New Mexico X-mas dinner. That shit was delicious and I could eat your pops Green Chile Casserole till buzzards circle my bloated comatosed body ha ha. There was also some bomb greenn chile salsa. Naturally the heavy dose of casserole, turkey, mashed taters and posole put me into a coma. It was like smoking 20 bong hits and taking a shot of whiskey.
While high from my New Mexico leftover feast I decided I should cook up a soup for the next few nights since it’s been freezing and I didn’t want my one potato and onion to go bad. So I did, and I didn’t eat any because I was still full by the time I was going to bed. So I put it all away and cleaned up the mess.
That brings us to today. I had a bowl of soup for breakfast/lunch. I also had a some hot tea. I came home and I decided to use my three dollars on some bread at Pancho Villa. I bought four bolillo rolls and an onion for $1.34. Then I used my remaining change to satisfy my inner demons with two whopper jr’s (I don ‘t know what came over me!) After I ate the 2 whopper jr’s I had another bowl of soup and a bolillo roll. Fresh baked bread is so good.
I have $3.18 in my checking account and I don’t get paid till Thursday. So I guess I will be living like I’m in jail when I’m free because being free is kind of like being in jail anyways… or something. Bread and water aint so bad.
